Committed to Cynicism embraces the longing for surrealism trying to juxtapose dark themes on colourful pop music. heavily inspired by a dear friend who was very close to the band and her morally loose sense of humour. as the titles suggests this attempt on absurd melody directs the listener to very cynical themes and surrealist story telling, with songs based solemnly on stories that never took place in the real world ( existing in more meaningful planes), exaggerations for humorous purposes, imaginary landscapes and daydreams. no rules, so long as it sticks in your brain like glue.
instrumentally inspired by the pop twang of the Byrds, Phil Spector, WITCH and the beach boys.
All recorded on the hottest days of the year in 2021 i believe that the EP has captured a craving for warmth, no matter if it comes from the sun, a tape reel, compressed guitars, surrealist shouting or screaming out for love.
